Animal Habitats

Week Two:
Animal Habitats, June 22 – 26

Animal Habitat Adventures: Ages 5 – 7
Animal Habitat Explorers: Ages 8 – 11

Description:

What do animals need to survive in their special habitats? Explore animal habitats in a variety of locations, meet the animals that live in them and learn about their survival needs and adaptations. Learn how animal structures of all shapes and sizes are built and what they are made of. Campers will create bird nest lanterns and gall ink art. They will take a special field trip to the California Academy of Sciences to explore the rainforest dome and butterfly habitat, visit the rocky reefs and kelp forests of California, the African Dioramas and the living rooftop garden at the Academy. Our young scientists will discover the special languages and behaviors that help identify the various birds of Tilden Park. They will also learn about local pollinators and make a butterfly bath and a wildflower seed mix to take home to attract pollinators to your garden or a local park.
