Camp Rangers Program (CRs)
KIDS for the BAY offers a Camp Rangers (CRs) Program for campers ages 12 – 13. This is an excellent opportunity for youth who love being in nature, have a passion for science and enjoy working with younger children to take on a special helping role and prepare to become Leaders in Training/Interns.
If you are interested, please email camp@kidsforthebay.org with the subject line ‘Camp Ranger’ and the answers to these questions in the body of your email, and we will provide further instructions on how to register.
- Why are you interested in becoming a Camp Ranger for KIDS for the BAY Summer Camp?
- Based on your experience and talents, how do you think you could help our young campers enjoy exploring in nature and learning science this summer?
- We are looking for Camp Rangers that want to learn, grow and strengthen their leadership skills. Please describe two goals you would like to achieve through your Camp Ranger experience.
CRs will gain experience leading activities with younger campers while exploring in nature and increasing their own understanding of science and the natural world. CRs help lead games, read stories and participate in all camp activities and science investigations. They also help to teach our campers how every living thing is interconnected, and encourage them to become Inspired environmentalists! Alongside our campers, CRs will explore bay and ocean shorelines, hike along beautiful creeks, study insects in ponds, investigate lake ecosystems, go kayaking on the bay and much more!
“I love this camp! It taught me about the environment in a fun, playful way that makes learning easy and satisfying. I loved working with the kids, watching them be curious, and have fun. When I went to this camp, my counselors made me feel so welcome and proud of the work I did and I loved being able to give other campers that experience.”
Gabriela, Leader in Training
“I love being around kids and I love being in nature, so I thought that KIDS for the BAY was the place for me! This week we saw a whale and I got to see it with the kids. That day was the highlight of my summer! I learned more about leadership and responsibility and those are things I need to one day become a leader here.”
Adilu, Leader in Training
Camp Rangers age 12 – 13 years will work with our Adventurers Camps to help support our younger campers age 5-7 years.
We offer spaces for up to two CRs per camp session. Each Camp Ranger can register for a total of two sessions each summer for each CR. Please see the capacity status below as you consider your registration.
