Funding Resources for Teachers
In order to help more teachers secure exciting creek, bay and ocean Field Trips for their students, and to bring hands-on environmental science into their classrooms, KIDS for the BAY has compiled a list of resources and funding opportunities for teachers. Each funder is noted below, please refer to their website for more information:
- Philanthropic Ventures
Grants to support public school teachers in Alameda and San Mateo Counties, requests reviewed within 48 hours - Target
Grants for Field Trips - Berkeley Public Schools Fund
Classroom grants - Youth Outside
Field Trips focusing on science and environmental education for low-income schools - Environmental Volunteers Transportation Fund
Science and environmental-based Field Trips for low-income schools - Parks Express
Grants to fund transportation for Field Trips located within East Bay Regional Parks, 40 passenger minimum (two classes) - California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA)
Mini grants being offered to teachers in California to promote recycling and waste reduction in their classrooms
