Description:
Explore fascinating aquatic environments including creeks, ponds, lakes and the San Francisco Bay. Discover the adaptations that help organisms survive in freshwater and brackish water ecosystems. Meet and study freshwater invertebrates, including damselflies, mayflies and crayfish, as well as brackish water bay life including shoreline crabs, blue mussels, sea lettuce and sea squirts. Learn about the importance of conserving freshwater for all life on earth and the actions you can take to conserve water every day.
Drop Off and Pick Up Locations:
Our main location this week will be Fern Picnic Area in Tilden Park, with one special location day at Berkeley Marina or Cesar Chavez Park and one special location day at the Environmental Education Center area to explore Jewel Lake, as well as our fun Friday at Lake Anza.
