Girls Science Adventures Description:
Experiment with hands-on science learning in a supportive environment that encourages girls to succeed in science and highlights the accomplishments of women scientists. Create exploding volcanoes to learn about chemical reactions and the layers of the earth. Make glitter galaxy slime and zoom into the world of outer space! A visit to the Lawrence Hall of Science provides fun opportunities with science learning stations. Girl scientists will also explore the unique habitats of the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Ocean and investigate the fascinating plants and animals that are adapted to survive in these environments. Adventurers will work on a special restoration project for Strawberry Creek.
Girls Science Explorers Description:
Meet women scientists who are leaders in their fields and get excited about learning hands-on science in a supportive environment that encourages girls to succeed in science. Girl scientists will learn about the pH scale, acids and bases as they make chemical reaction jets! They will experiment with density by creating lava lamps. Campers will visit the Lawrence Hall of Science and engage with fun science learning stations. Explorers will go kayaking on the San Francisco Bay, explore unique bay and ocean habitats and investigate the fascinating plants and animals that are adapted to survive in these environments. Explorers will also enjoy a visit to the Exploratorium on a special BART Field Trip to San Francisco.
