Leaders-in-Training Program

KIDS for the BAY offers a Camp Leaders in Training (LIT) Program for campers age 11-13 years. This is an excellent opportunity for youth who love being in nature, have a passion for science and enjoy working with younger children.

If you are interested, please email Valerie Lowe at camp@kidsforthebay.org with the subject line “Leader In Training” and she will provide further instructions on how to register.

LITs will gain experience leading activities with younger campers while exploring in nature and increasing their own understanding of science and the natural world. LITs help lead games, read stories and participate in all camp activities and science investigations. They also help to teach our campers how every living thing is interconnected, and encourage them to become Inspired Environmentalists! Alongside our campers, LITs will explore bay and ocean shorelines, hike along beautiful creeks, collect insects from ponds, swim in a lake, go kayaking on the bay, enjoy overnight camping adventures and much more!

LITs age 11 years will work with our Adventures Camps. LITs age 12-13 years can work with either our Adventures Camps or our Explorers Camps.

We offer spaces for up to two LITs per camp session, for up to a total of three sessions each summer for each LIT.
